Photography

Most MAP students use digital cameras to document their work and many focus on photography and digital imaging as part of their programme. All students are given an introduction into basic Photoshop techniques, allowing them to manipulate and combine images. These skills may support work in others areas, such as CD cover designs for recorded music.

MAP recently worked alongside professional photographer Andrew Fleming to produce a special exhibition of images at OVADA in Oxford. 'Picture the Family' allowed a small group of young people to develop photographic skills and explore their relationships with family and each other.

Creative digital photography can form part of a learner's Progression qualification at MAP and often encourages those less confident with computers and technology to overcome their fear.
