Polly Foster, MAP Co-ordinator/Team Leader
Polly is currently seconded from her role at The Mill Arts Centre as the Education Development Worker. After a Fine Art degree from Manchester and a PGCE course she taught for some years in secondary and FE before coming to The Mill in its early development phase. She has wide experience in education and the arts across different sectors and types of formal and informal provision, and was a moderator for the Open College Network.
Selma Wakeman, MAP Development Worker
Selma has a Diploma in Design and ND Graphics and Illustration. She is an experienced Community Arts Worker and has used her skills on a wide range of projects around the town from primary school murals to a huge dragon on the community bus for the Banbury Carnival. Before coming to MAP Selma worked on the Community Bus, as an LSA for Special Needs children, as a worker for the Youth Offending Team and Banbury Pupil Referral Unit and ran numerous workshops and projects for children and young people at The Mill Arts Centre
Ben Johnston, MAP Development Worker
Ben graduated from Dartington College of Arts and has several years experience of leading projects with young people. He studied Computer Arts in London and has produced films, soundtracks and publicity for a number of organisations and groups. Ben is a trustee of the Abolicao Trust, a registered charity that supports work with children in Brazil and South Africa.
Emma Titcombe, MAP Development Worker
Emma graduated with a degree in Art, Design and Media specialising in Fine Art before completing a postgraduate course in Arts Management. She has worked with her arts skills in a variety of settings both in the UK and the USA; has experience of working in schools and is also a qualified FE teacher. Still a practicing artist, Emma has a studio in Oxford.
Ellie Colven, MAP Project Worker
Ellie grew up in Oxfordshire and has a background of theatre with film, music, dance and crafts. After completing a BTEC in Performing Arts she went on to King Alfred's College in Winchester and a Performing Arts Degree. Ellie has particular experience delivering confidence and team building workshops and is a MAP lead tutor for film and animation work. Currently Ellie is studying for the MA in Youth Work and Community Development (with professional qualification) alongside her work with MAP.
Nicola Armitage, MAP Project Worker
Nicola is an artist and filmmaker from Newcastle upon Tyne with a BA Hons Degree in Fine Arts from Northumbria University specialising in print and digital media. She has a wealth of experience delivering art and film projects and arranging exhibitions with community groups. Over the two years before joining MAP Nicola concentrated on filmmaking and received training from Soho Editors London.
Jacqui Kincaid, MAP Project Worker
Jacqui Kincaid has an Honours Degree in Design Crafts and a Diploma in Environmental Studies and is industry trained as a jeweller. She produces multimedia work from jewellery to sculpture. Before coming to MAP Jacqui worked as a Teaching Assistant for children with Special Needs, specialising in work on behaviour and has led a variety of arts and crafts workshops and projects in schools and community settings.
